  This is the end of the 1998 exam. The 2001 exams will be available on this website beginning in September.

Please note: On this website, we have been posting both a "PDF" version of the MCAS questions (a bit more elegant looking, but hard for some folks to download) and our own version of the questions (not quite as fancy looking, but the same content in a format that everyone can download). For the questions on the 1998 tests, the PDF version available from the Department of Education shows clearly which answer is correct for each question. We find that when the answers are too easily available, people tend not to work as hard to understand the problems.

THEREFORE ... the PDF-format for the 1998 questions will not be available on this part of the site. Our web pages modify the FORMAT of the 1998 questions somewhat, but the CONTENT of the questions is the same that appeared on the original test. Your printer should be able to print directly from the version appearing on your computer screen.
